The Vesper, or Vesper Martini, is a very strong cocktail primarily containing gin. The drink also contains vodka and a touch of Lillet Blonde, a brand of dry vermouth. Although the cocktail is meant to be served in Champagne coupe or goblet, this is often substituted with a cocktail glass instead and garnished with a twist of lemon rind.

What you need to make the Vesper

For the drink

  • 60 ml gin
  • 15 ml vodka
  • 7.5 ml Lillet Blonde (or dry vermouth)
  • Ice cubes

For the garnish

  • Lemon twist

How to make

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Add the gin, vodka and Lillet Blonde, then shake until chilled.
  3. Strain into a Champagne coupe and garnish with a lemon twist.
