The Black Russian cocktail is a mixture of vodka and a coffee liqueur, such as Kahlúa. It gets its name from the vodka which is a popular spirit in Russian, along with the darkness of the coffee liqueur. The drink is traditionally served “on the rocks” in an old fashioned glass with no garnish, except for perhaps a stirrer.
